Gentle Support During Times of Change

I offer a calm, compassionate space to explore emotional challenges, life transitions and patterns that might be holding you back.  My approach is trauma informed and guided by gentle curiosity, care, and respect for your individual pace

Support during challenging times

People come to counselling for many reasons - to strengthen relationships, understand patterns, or make sense of experiences that feel difficult or unclear.  I offer a supportive space to explore what's happening for you, individually or together, with gentle care and understanding

What I Can Offer

Couples Therapy

Relationships can offer joy in our lives but can also be the source of pain when they're not working so well.  Couples Therapy provides an opportunity to reflect on your relationship, perhaps focusing on communication and difficult patterns, and explore ways of relating with greater understanding and care

Individual Counselling

Life can be difficult sometimes, and especially if you've been through trauma. I aim to offer a supportive and safe space to explore emotional challenges, recurring patterns and difficult life experiences, working at a pace that feels right for you

Menopause Support

Menopause can be such a challenging time for some women, but it can also present an opportunity to think about what you want to be different and perhaps what is holding you back. Together we can explore emotional, relational and identity changes in a gentle, compassionate way, at your pace

My Approach

My Background

I trained and worked with Relate, where I developed a strong foundation of working with couples and individuals to understand patterns that can keep occurring in relationships.  These patterns can feel really difficult and often get in the way of what might otherwise be a good relationship. I am also confident in supporting where there has been a betrayal and can help bring some resolution.

Gentle Compassion

My approach is informed by Compassionate Inquiry, a therapeutic framework developed by trauma expert Dr Gabor Mate.  Rather than just focusing on thoughts and behaviours, it gently invites you to explore what is happening in the body. This can lead to real and lasting understanding and acceptance.

Working Together

I offer a gentle space for us to work together, with a focus on curiosity, care and emotional safety rather than quick fixes. Goals are also important and I'll be guided by your pace.

Things You Might Be Wondering...

What next?

If you're interested in working together, the next step is to get in touch.  I offer a free 15 minute call or online meeting as a chance to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and see whether it feels like a good fit.  There's no obligation to continue after this.  It's important that you get the right counsellor for you.

Are sessions online or in person?

If you're local to Derby I can offer face to face appointments at Woodlands Natural Health Centre.  I also offer online sessions using  Zoom. If you're not sure which would be best for you, we can talk together about what would feel most supportive and appropriate.

What happens during a counselling session?

Sessions are a chance for you to be able to talk about what is most important for you, and to be heard and understood. I'll listen carefully, ask gentle questions, and we'll work at a pace that feels respectful and manageable.

Fees and Practicalities
