Individual Counselling

People come to counselling for many different reasons.  Sometimes there is a clear crisis or loss.  Sometimes there is a growing sense of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected or exhausted by familiar patterns and ways of coping.

Individual counselling offers a space to slow things down, reflect more deeply, and begin to understand what may be happening beneath the surface.

What you can expect

Alongside my counselling training and experience, I am currently undertaking the Compassionate Inquiry Professional Training programme developed by trauma specialist Dr Gabor Mate.  This approach has deepened my understanding of the ways past experiences and relationships can continue to shape how we feel, respond and relate in the present.

I aim to offer a compassionate and emotionally safe space where we can gently explore your experiences together, at a pace that feels manageable and respectful.

Therapy space in Derby for couples counselling

A gentle way forward

I can offer you a confidential space to talk, reflect and explore whatever feels important to you.  Sometimes this may involve making sense of current difficulties: at other times it may involve noticing deeper emotional patterns, ways you have developed to protect yourself, or unmet needs that have developed over time.

I aim to support people with warmth, honesty and care, without judgement or pressure.  I know that coming to counselling can feel daunting, especially if it's your first time.  I work in a calm, welcoming therapy centre, and there's always a cup of tea available!

Sessions take place in person in Derby, or online if you prefer.

If you'd like to get a sense of whether working together feels right, you're welcome to get in touch.  I offer a free 15 minute call to talk things through.
